All is well!

October 8th, 2009 (08:47 pm)

I'm almost finished my history essay, I finally have a good/easy idea for my short story, I've finally started getting a move on with painting my calico, my dad has helped me with my music composition again (thank goodness he's a musician) and I'm not panicking! For the first time in about three weeks! YAY. All the GCSE art people went to Mersea to sketch boats and beach huts yesterday. The weather was really grey but it didn't rain (!) and my sketches are actually quite reasonable considering I usually only ever draw people and teacups, so I'm happy (:

Oh, and I've decided I really need to buy One Trick Pony and Hearts & Bones at some point this weekend. I watched the Concert in Central Park DVD with my mum (again) last Friday and it reminded me how much I love Paul Simon XD

That is all for now. Gosh, I'm happy today

I got a bit bored in Political Awareness today and this was the result:

:D

I don't have much to report today, except that we're having wooden floors put in (!), so everywhere in the house smells of sawdust and there are a lot of things in places where they shouldn't be and I keep stepping on tacks...'tis not good, but the floors look nice so far (:

I live in a village called Fingringhoe (don't say a word. NOT A WORD) and this morning a letter came adressed to 'Fingeringhole'. I shall say no more.

FREE TIME. Woohoo. I guess this calls for an entry :D
Although it was nearly a week ago, I really think I have to recount a particular English lesson because I found it very amusing. We sit in alphabetical order, you see, so I'm next to Kiera, (a.k.a Kiki) and Steph, who are both Torchwood fanatics and our current piece of coursework is writing a short story. I've got half an idea, but Kiki doesn't know what to write and Steph is, in effect, writing a Torchwood fanfiction, but trying to disguise it so as not to 'infringe on copyright laws', as I put it (while pointing at her with a pencil. Don't ask) SO ANYWAY, our lesson basically consisted of me writing half a sentence, Kiki trying and failing to get inspiration and Steph badgering us to think of names for her Ianto character that didn't have any association whatsoever with Torchwood, and in the process I let slip that I read slash fanfictions too, so our conversation went in a whole different direction (apparently there's a Torchwood fic called Three Is A Magic Number; I think that rather speaks for itself), and then when Steph reverted back to English and said something about 'posessive verbs' , Kiki and I both had the same thought (me: "posessive? *teehee* kiki:hmm.. I was thinking along the same lines), much to Steph's amusement/disapproval. So in short, I am not the only slash fan in my form. YAY.

GCSE art is taking over my life, I swear. I spent all morning attempting to draw border-lines on my canvas with a bookmark because for some reason the house appears to be devoid of rulers and I still have to do three pages of sketchbook. GRR. I did see Dorian Gray yesterday though :D What was funny was that I realised before the film started that I had a notebook and lots of IKEA pencils in my bag, so I ended up writing down what I was thinking while watching it (I have no idea why...I have these sorts of whims occasionally) and all I have written there is, "Heck, Ben Barnes is beautiful", "I LOVE BASIL", "WHAT A MANWHORE", "What a lot of flamboyant filth" and "I don't remember that in the book". Surprisingly, I actually enjoyed it very much :D

Oh, how I do love Autumn. I wore an actual scarf (a stripy one :D) for the first time in ages today. Its quite odd, every beginning-of-Summer, I think 'actually, I really quite like Summer' but by the time it gets to late July/August, I'm already fed up of it and want it to be cold again.
I'm so happy at the moment I could dance. I've been in this really ridiculously good mood all week and I don't have a clue why but its brilliant XD  Ooh, and I'm loving all the Beatlemania in the papers at the moment :D I almost wish I was in any way into video games so I could get excited about the Rock Band thing, but I'm happy with all the reading/ogling material there's been lately. Aren't anniversaries brilliant?

♪after long, home is a place where I yearn to belong♪

August 31st, 2009 (01:54 pm)

I used to be obsessed with Simply Red. There, I said it. Anyway. I'm HOME now :D Our huge monster-plant ( or clematis, as it's more commonly known as) came off the front of the house in a storm on friday evening and now there's an awful lot of detatched foliage in the front garden, which looks ridiculous BUT its all Autumny so I'm happy. I love Autumn.
Germany and Holland were very nice indeed, but the highlight was spending most of the day in Amsterdam yesterday (its probably my favourite place in the world).  The Rhine was beautiful (I spent most of the time there sitting on the rocks just watching it), but I got the impression that most of the locals in Oberwesel must be agoraphobic because walking through the town was like walking through a ghost town, so I was relieved to arrive in Holland and find people singing in the street and similar..shenanigans, PLUS Oranjezone is really close to the beach, which looks amazing in the evening so I had just as many photo oppurtunities there. My camera was definitely put to good use on this particular holiday :D

Internet access! yay! on a CAMPSITE. Bloody brilliant.
*ahem* enough of that. I'm currently sitting outside our tent on Oranjezone campsite in Holland and this is the first time I've been on the internet for nearly two weeks, so I thought I'd better write an entry (eventually). As a general rule, I don't like holidays abroad that much but this one has been quite nice as they go. Before coming here we were camping in Germany, next to the Rhine is Oberwesel. It was very quiet and..odd, for want of better word but the scenery was beautiful and I took lots of photos. My dad is now wanting the laptop so thats all for now, but I shall elaborate when we go back home on Sunday. Yippee.
